Dr. Jorge G. Contreras, DC, CSCS
Dr. Contreras received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose CA in 2016, where he received the prestigious Virgil Strang Philosophy award. In addition to his education in traditional chiropractic methods, his specialties include Active Release technique, cupping, Instrument-assisted soft tissue massage “scraping” and holds numerous certifications in personal training including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a recognized Master Trainer for both the National Academy of Sports Medicine and EXOS. Prior to his Doctorate, Dr. Contreras received his Bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology as well as a double minor in Exercise and Health Science, and Fitness Instruction.
Dr. Contreras is currently a Professor at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, where he is the lead lecturer for both courses on Physical Therapy as well as a clinical instructor to the students treated in the student clinic. His previous teaching experience included teaching Exercise Physiology, Emergency Procedures, and First Aid while he was an undergraduate at the University of California Santa Barbara.
Dr. Contreras played four years of division one rugby for UCSB and was selected to Mexico’s national team after graduation. He has trained and treated athletes of all levels including collegiate level, NFL, and Olympians. Currently, he enjoys helping everyday athletes redefine what it means to live strong and healthy lives.
